Favorite places

Some of my favorite places, programs, links on the web:

Dropbox is a really terrific file-sharing tool. You download the free program on as many computers as you'd like, and then any file you drop in a dropbox folder is stored "in the cloud" and can be accessed anywhere you log in to dropbox. You can share file folders with friends to collaborate on word docs. And did I mention it's free? The free space given is pretty adequate, but if you sign up with my link it will give me a little space bump.

Etsy.com is a place to buy handmade items directly from artists. I love art, handwork, and supporting creative people who are often underpaid for their labor.

the OWL Purdue APA website is a really great resource for APA style with examples.

I use a free program called Zotero to help me manage citations.

I love Maurice Sendack, and this is an amazingly touching interview with him on youtube.

My friends in academia might like to visit these places:
  • The Professor is In! Pearls of Wisdom for those headed toward academia, and good advice for some of us already there as well.
  • The Chronicle forums have advice on anything- and if it's not already there, you can ask
